Inclusion Criteria
Which tools we cover:
- Tool is publicly accessible (no closed beta)
- Tool has clear pricing (no "contact us only")
- Tool has been live for at least 6 months OR comes from an established vendor
- Tool has active updates (last release < 90 days)
Test Setup
For each tool we run the following tests:
- Onboarding test — create account, measure time-to-first-output
- Use-case tests — 5 realistic workflows from industry practice
- Pricing verification — verify plans against the vendor's own page (with date)
- Privacy check — GDPR compliance, EU hosting option, data retention
- Integration test — verify API / Zapier / Make connectivity
Rating System
Pros and cons are editorial. We do not use AggregateRating stars based on fictional user counts. The UI stars on tool cards reflect our editorial assessment on a 5-point scale. Star aggregates are only emitted in Schema.org markup once real editorial reviews with traceable test data exist (planned from Q3 2026 onwards).
Editorial Independence
- Affiliate commissions only come from programs we are part of.
- Affiliate status has no influence on pros/cons or comparison verdicts.
- Tools without an affiliate program are listed equally.
- Sponsored content is clearly labelled as "Sponsored" (see affiliate disclosure).
Anti-Spam Note
We do not publish fabricated star ratings in JSON-LD schema. Star aggregates are only emitted once real editorial reviews with traceable test data exist.
Update Policy
- Tool pricing is verified every 4–6 weeks against the vendor's own page (visible "as of:" stamp).
- Editorial reviews are repeated quarterly for top tools — and immediately whenever a tool ships a major update.
- Comparison pages are re-tested whenever any compared tool ships a major update (visible "last tested:" stamp).
Who tests
Our editors with clear specializations — see the editorial team. Every article carries a responsible author byline with Person schema. If a piece is explicitly published without an author byline, it is editorially owned by the entire team.
